Like a stony
craft that went aground, Sveti Stefan “dropped its anchor” in
the middle of the Budva Riviera. What once was just a fishermen's
village, in 1960 became a world famous city-hotel with comfortable
villas and apartments.
The story says that Pashtrovics
built the settlement with treasure they took from Turks back
in XV century. Centuries later, Sveti Stefan became the abode
of Pashtrovics, and a place where their court called "bankada"
held sessions and made decisions. This tradition still remains.

feels like I came back to the city from the most beautiful fairytale
of my childhood"- those were the words of the Italian movie
star, Sofia Loren, on her visit to Sveti Stefan.
